Lexington Ob/Gyn is the premier practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology serving the Southern Shenandoah Valley and beyond.

We provide a comfortable and confidential setting to evaluate and manage all aspects of Women's Health. This would include routine pregnancy, annual exams, and gynecologic problems associated with pelvic pain, bleeding, urinary incontinence, breast disorders and osteoporosis.

We also offer a full line of laser treatments including hair removal, photo facial rejuvination, and treatment of skin and vascular lesions.


Joseph L. Troise, MD - Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. Troise is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and has been practicing in Lexington since 1996. He received his Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University prior to completing Medical School at Temple Universtiy in Philadelphia. His internship was done in Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, California, followed by residency at Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina.

His hobbies include golf and hunting ... and he and his wife Kim have 3 children, Sarah, Ben & Mary.


Brian Maxwell, MD - Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. Maxwell is a California native and has been practicing in Lexington since 2004. He received his medical degree from Kansas State University of Medicine & Biosciences in 2000, and completed his OB/Gyn residency in 2004 at Carilion Medical Center in Roanoke, Virginia. He holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Texas A&M University. Dr. Maxwell is board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

His hobbies include cycling, swimming and running, and has competed in triathlons since 1985. He is a two-time Ironman Triathlon finisher, most recently competing in the 2003 Ironman World Championship in Hawaii. He has two daughters, Carson and Rachel.


Dana Abney, W.H.N.P

Dana is a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner who has been here since 2004. She and her husband moved to Virginia in 2000. She received her B.S.N. from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and her Masters of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University.

She enjoys traveling, scrapbooking, reading, exercising and crossstich. Finally, she is an Arkansas Razorback fanatic.
